History of the department:

The Department of Mining was created on the basis of the order of the rector of the Navoi State Mining Institute No. 1/150 dated July 9, 2008. Assoc. Prof. was appointed head of the department A.S. Khasanov. Academician Kh. A. Akbarov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Mining Sciences, Professor B. R. Raimzhonov, Professor B. Sh. Shakarov were invited to the department. The staff of the department consisted of prof. A.S. Khasanov, associate professor Y.P. Isamatov, associate professor M.A. Mutalova, senior lecturer M.K. Shamaev, assistant O.A. Khasanov. Initially, the department employed 5 full-time teachers and 4 part-time teachers. Since 2017, the Almalyk branch of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov has been created. Currently, the department has 23 full-time professors and teachers.

Since the 2009-2010 academic year, the department has opened a new bachelor’s degree direction – “Professional Education” (Mining), from the 2017-2018 academic year “Mining Electromechanics”, from the 2019-2020 academic year – a master’s degree direction “Development of Mineral Deposits”. Since the 2019-2020 academic year, the department has been training bachelors in the areas of “Mining Engineering”, “Mining Electromechanics” and “Professional Education”, masters in the direction of “Development of Mineral Deposits”.

In 2009-2012, senior lecturer M.K. Shamaev worked as the head of the department.

In 2012-2015, the department was headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.S. Khasanov.

From 2015 to 2016, associate professor Mutalova M.A. worked as the acting head of the department.

From 2016 to 2019, Professor B.Sh. Shakarov worked as the head of the department.

From 2019 to 2023, the Department of Mining was headed by senior lecturer M.K. Shamaev.

2023, from May 18 to the present, the Department of Mining Works is headed by Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences Khasanov A.A.

Scientific work carried out at the department:

The department regularly publishes scientific works of professors and teachers every year. During the existence of the department, patents and copyright certificates for inventions have been received. In recent years, inventions have been patented, and the results of scientific research are used in production. Today, senior lecturers of the department implemented an innovative project on the topic “Forecasting the impact of hazardous geomechanical and geodynamic processes occurring in the conditions of complex mining of a coal deposit, assessing the stability of the sides in a coal mine, creating a 3D model.” Senior lecturers of the department Shamaev M.K., Melnikova T.E., Alimov Sh.M. conducts scientific research as independent researchers, and assistant Suyarov J.U. conducts scientific research as a doctoral student.

Educational and methodological work:

the department conducts lectures, seminars, practical and laboratory classes in the following three educational areas of bachelor’s degree: “Open-pit mining”, “Underground mining”, “Enrichment of minerals” and one educational direction of the master’s degree “Development of mineral deposits”. For four years, employees of the Mining Department have used all available opportunities to improve the educational process, increasing the level and quality of knowledge and skills of students in the field of open-pit mining, underground mining and mineral processing. Professors of the department published 2 textbooks, 5 methodological-teaching aids, 3 monographs and teaching aids.

The teachers of the department developed the following teaching aids:

1. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 237-549 dated May 31, 2021, B. Shakarov, U.T. Toshtemirov a textbook was prepared and published on the subject “TECHNOLOGY OF CONSTRUCTION  MINE WORKING”.

2. According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 237-549 dated May 31, 2021, Shakarov B.Sh., Bakirov G.H. prepared and published a textbook on the subject “DEVELOPMENT OF MINERAL RESOURCES DEPOSITS BY UNDERGROUND METHOD.”

3. Based on the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 12, 2023, Assoc. Isomatov Yu.P. a textbook on the subject “GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY” was prepared and published.

4. According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 10 dated June 29, 2021, Assoc. Mutalova M.A. a textbook on the subject “MINERAL ENRICHMENT” was prepared and published.

5. Based on the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 10 dated June 29, 2021, Assoc. Mutalova M.A. a textbook was prepared and published on the subject “TECHNOLOGY FOR ENRICHMENT OF NON- METALLIC MINERAL RESOURCES.”

The teachers of the department developed the following textbook:

1. According to the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 68 dated March 27, 2023, A.N. Shodiev, S.Z. Namozov, Sh.N. Turabov, A.A. Khasanov prepared a textbook entitled “METALLURGY OF PRECIOUS METALS.”

The following monographs have been developed by teachers of the department:

1. The monograph entitled “Development and improvement of technology for separating lead-copper concentrate” was prepared by S. Abdurakhmonov, M.A. Mutalova, G.K. Salizhanova according to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2021.

2. The monograph “Engineering-geological conditions of the Karshi steppe” was prepared by Yu.P. Isomatov, G.A. Mavlyanov. Publishing house “Fan” Tashkent 1974

3. The monograph “Increasing the efficiency of drilling and blasting operations when carrying out underground horizontal mine workings” was prepared by Toshtemirov U.T. Tosh State Technical University AF No. 5 02/10/2023

General classification of bachelor’s and master’s degrees:

Bachelor’s degree 60721500 – “Mining” (by type of activity), master’s degree 70721501-“Development of mineral deposits” are included in the classification of educational directions and specialties of the State educational standard of continuing education of Uzbekistan, the State educational standard of higher education of Uzbekistan.

The duration of undergraduate studies is:

full-time education – 4 years.

in the correspondence education – 5 years.

in the evening education – 4.5 years.

Master’s degree – 2 years.
