HISTORY OF THE FACULTY

1958-1961 – Chairman of the Urban Planning Committee Y.S. Petrosov was appointed head of the advisory office of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute (TashPI), opened in the city of Almalyk.

In the 50s of the 20th century, it is planned to build large metallurgical plants in Uzbekistan, and in the 60s the implementation of this plan will begin. The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, the Chodak, Angren, and Marzhanbulak gold mining plants belonging to the Uzbekzoloto association, and then the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine were built. During this period, the Bekabad Metallurgical Plant and the Chirchik Plant for the production of refractory and refractory metals (tungsten and molybdenum) operated. To work at these plants, training specialists for mechanical engineering metallurgists has become a requirement of the time. This task was entrusted to the mining department at the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute (now Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov). In this regard, in 1961 in Almalyk, in 1962 in Tashkent, full-time enrollment took place in the specialty “Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous Metals” and the training of engineers began. The dean of the faculty was Assoc. U.A. Isomukhammedov, the deputy dean of the institute was I.I. Inagamov. The mining and metallurgical faculty of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute was transferred to Almalyk in September 1963 in accordance with the order of the management “Transfer of higher educational institutions to places close to industrial enterprises.” After the transfer of the faculty to Almalyk, U.A. Isomukhammedov was transferred to vice-rector for academic affairs, and was appointed dean A.P.Turchits in 1961.

During 1963-1967 Full-time, evening and correspondence departments of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Faculty were created, and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ilkhom Inagamovich Inagamov worked as the dean.

In 1967, the full-time department of the Almalyk Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy was transferred to TashPI, and the evening and correspondence department operated in Almalyk.

In 1967-1976, the dean was Doctor of Technical Sciences Dzhaimagambetov Jetis Satkalievich.

From 1976 to 1981, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ilkhom Inagamovich Inagamov was again appointed dean of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Faculty.

In 1981-1993, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Yusupkhodzhaev Anvar Abdullaevich worked as dean.

In 1993-1995, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Kholmatov Mirakhmad Mahamadovich worked as dean.

Professors and teachers who worked at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Faculty in 1961-1995: B.A. Stepanov, V.N.Chazov, R.Sharipkulov, B.V.Popova, V.Ivanova, N.Nekoroshov, A.Zubkov, L.Chazova, M.I.Shopak, S.Abdurahmanov, M.Askarov, A. Yusupkhodzhaev, A. Mutalov, M. Abdurakhmanov, M. Mutalova, T. Makhmadiyarov, M. Kholmatov, M. Yakubov, A. Khasanov.

In 1995, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Faculty was transformed into the Almalyk State Technical College.

In 2000, to supply skilled workers to the rapidly developing mining and metallurgical sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan, mainly the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant and the mining and metallurgical industry of the republic, the Metallurgical Faculty of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Institute. Then the following persons took the initiative: Academician of the Russian Academy of Mining Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences B.R. Raimzhonov, Doctor of Technical Sciences N.I. Kuchersky, Doctor of Technical Sciences K.S. Sanakulov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor S.A. Abdurakhmanov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Yu.D. Norov, Doctor of Technical Sciences U.F. Nosirov, Associate Professor R.M. Karshiev, Associate Professor A.M. Mutalov and the first dean of the faculty, Doctor of Technical Sciences A.S. Khasanov.

Taking into account the proposal of the General Director of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant and the khokim of the city of Almalyk, as well as the minutes of the 4th meeting of the State Commission “On Admission to Educational Institutions” dated July 18, 2001 and based on the decision of the Academic Council of the Navoi State Mining Institute dated July 27, 2001 year, as well as the order of the rector of the Navoi State Mining Institute No. 1/68 dated August 2, 2001, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Faculty of the Navoi State Mining Institute was opened in the city of Almalyk. Associate Professor A.S. Khasanov was appointed dean of the faculty and worked in this position until 2012.

In 2012-2013, Associate Professor T.V. Botirov worked as the dean of the faculty, in 2013-2017 – Associate Professor D.B. Kholikulov.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-3153 of 2017 “On measures to improve the system of training engineering and technical personnel for the field of industrial production in the Tashkent region”, According to the order of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 516 dated August 4, 2017 and By order of the rector of the TSTU named after Islam Karimov No. 01/9-05-520 dated August 4, 2017, the Almalyk branch of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov was created in Almalyk, and the faculty of “Mining and Metallurgy” was also included in its composition.

By order of the branch director Abdisattorov D.N. was appointed dean of the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy on January 3, 2019 and worked until September 3, 2019. From September 3, 2019 to August 17, 2022, Associate Professor Yu.P. Isomatov worked as the dean of the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy.

According to the order of the director of the branch dated August 8, 2022 No. 01/9-05-153 “On the creation of new faculties and departments in the branch”, the faculty “Mining Engineering” included the departments “Mining Engineering”, “Mining Electromechanics”, “General Professional and Economics” disciplines” and “Uzbek language and literature”.

From August 17, 2022 to the present day, PhD.O.A. Khasanov has been working as the dean of the faculty.
