History of the department:

1. Associate Professor Qurbonov Sh.K of the Department of “ METALLURGY ” was the head of the department in 2017-2018.

2. Boltayev O.N.  worked as acting the head of the department in 2018-2019, 2021-2022

3. Sunnatov J.B.   worked as acting the head of the department in 2019-2021.

4. From 2023 to the present, Toshqodirova R.E.has been working as the head of the department.

Since 2017, the Almalik branch of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov has been established. Currently, 15 full-time professors work at the department.

Scientific work carried out at the department:

The department annually publishes scientific works of its teaching staff. Since the founding of the department, patents and copyright certificates for computer programs have been received. In recent years, the results of research work have been introduced into the educational process. To date, the teaching staff of the department is implementing a practical project on the topic АЛ-6022012291 “Creating a technology for complex processing of oxidized copper ores.” In 2022-2023, the faculty of the department conducted scientific research on the basis of business agreements on the topics: “Development of technology for the production of copper phosphide”, “Development and industrial application of technology for processing zinc cakes by hydrometallurgical method”, “Creation of technology for extracting iron oxide from iron-containing waste (tail) CEF-2 of Almalyk MMC JSC. At the department, at the basic doctoral level, doctoral students and independent researchers conduct scientific research in the specialties 04.00.14 – “Enrichment of minerals”, 05.02.01 – “Materials science in mechanical engineering”. Foundry. Thermal and pressure processing of metals. Metallurgy of ferrous, non-ferrous and rare metals . Technology of rare, noble and radioactive elements”.

Educational and methodological work:

The department conducts lectures, practical and laboratory classes in the areas of Bachelor’s degree 60712100 Metallurgy and Master’s Degree 70712101 “Metallurgy” (non-ferrous metals) in the following disciplines: Introduction to the field, Fundamentals of metallurgy, Preparation of ores for processing, Heat and mass transfer in metallurgical processes, Metal recycling, Theory of pyrometallurgical processes, Theory of hydrometallurgical processes, Mechanical equipment of metallurgical plants, Steel production technology, Metallurgy of heavy non-ferrous metals, Complex use of raw materials in metallurgy, Biotechnological processes in metallurgy, Processing of resistant gold-bearing ores, Metallurgy of rare metals, Casting technology, Direct extraction of iron from ore, Metallurgy of precious metals, Research methodology, New technologies in non-ferrous metallurgy, Thermodynamics and kinetics of metallurgical processes, Technological processes for processing non-ferrous ores, Technologies for processing man-made waste, Recovery processes in non-ferrous metallurgy, Design of non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises, Environmental problems of metallurgical production, Autogenic processes in non-ferrous metallurgy. The members of the department are working to improve the educational process, increasing the level and quality of students’ knowledge in subjects, as well as their abilities. The result of this was the publication by the teaching staff of the department of 2 textbooks, 3 textbooks, 6 monographs and more than 10 methodological manuals.

1. By decision of the Council of Tashkent State Technical University No. 01 dated November 13, 2023, in accordance with order No. 01/9-05-769, a textbook by the authors Samadov A.U., Askarova N.M. is published. “PIROMETALLURGIYA JARAYONLARI NAZARIYASI” for students of the direction 60712100 Metallurgy.

2. Based on the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 391 dated August 25, 2023, a textbook for students in the direction 70721503 “Beneficiation of mineral resources” by the authors Saidaxmedov A.A., S.S.Turdiyev, Sh.B.Karshiboyev, R.A.Xamidov “GRAVITATSIYA USULIDA BOYITISH”.

3. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 500 dated November 23, 2021, a textbook “METALLURGIYADA XOM ASHYODAN KOMPLEKS FOYDALANISH” was published under the authorship of Abduraxmonov S.A., Xoliqulov D.B., Samadov A.U., Toshqodirova R.E.

4. In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Almalyk branch of the Tashkent State Technical University No. 11 dated May 29, 2021, the textbook “MURAKKAB TARKIBLI OLTIN RUDALARINI QAYTA ISHLASH” was created and published under the authorship of Abduraxmonov S.A., Xoliqulov D.B., Samadov A.U., Toshqodirova R.E.

5. In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Almalyk branch of the Tashkent State Technical University in 2021, the textbook “RUDALARNI QAYTA ISHLASHGA TAYYORLASH” by Abduraxmonov S.A., Umarova I.K., Masidikov E.M. was created and published
